一昨日は福岡帰りの荷物を積んだまま、朝から町内で農業をされている事業者の方に会いに行ってきました。その社長さんとはこれまでも何度か顔を合わせたことはあったのですが、きちんと話を聞かせてもらったのは今回が初めて。コロナ禍を経て、それまでの小売事業をすっぱりと辞め、まったくの異業種に参入した経緯や、これからの未来の話までたくさんの可能性を聞かせていただきました。

もはや物を売り買いする時代ではない――。

その言葉にハッとして、自分は物を売る人間として、1足の靴下をとおして届けたいものは何なのか、そこも含めて発信していかないと、そのままただの靴下売りで終わっちゃうよなーと感じました。

This morning, with all our luggage from yesterday’s event back to Fukuoka, I went to visit a manager of a farm company in Arita.

I had met the president several times in the past, but this was the first time I talked to him properly.

We talked about how they completely quit them previous retail business and entered a completely different industry after the COVID-19 pandemic, and the many possibilities they has for the future.

This is no longer the time to just buy and sell things.

I was taken aback by those words, and as a person who sells things, I felt that if we didn’t communicate what we wanted to deliver through a pair of socks, we would end up just selling socks.
